Navidad Time…

While I’m still planning on Christmas dinner menu and last minute purchases, I had to stop to photograph something. I was going to photograph the current construction in my block that drives me crazy. It is taking forever and water gets shut down until 5pm everyday… BUT, I looked around for things that I enjoy looking at… and I photographed it using some techniques I am learning in one of the books I am reading. I started reading 2 books, don’t know if it’s recommended to read two books simultaneously but I am trying. I am reading  Food Photography and The Glass Castle, two books completely different from each other, but interesting for sure. I would like to get into food photography, learn proper lighting and food staging and I plan to get better at this during the winter. So you may see some food posts in the near future and possible recipes, after all I love to cook and come up with new recipes, why not photograph my yummy dishes. The Glass Castle is totally different, let me be honest, I am not a reader, it could take weeks or months to finish reading a book. But I need to challenge myself and that’s the goal, finish reading that book and other ones I got, all 5 of them…

And before we all disconnect from the internet world, Facebook, twitter and all social media around, I wanted to wish everyone a very nice Christmas with your families and loved ones. Enjoy the company, enjoy the loads of food, the gifts but mostly enjoy the moment. Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad!

PS: I love cows…When I saw this ornament at Target, I starting dancing and jumping like a little girl with a new barbie. It’s the little things…

once upon a time

It happened a little over 2 years ago, I had the opportunity to photograph a month old baby girl and her mom in Central Park, and what I captured was really beautiful and genuine.  I captured love. I captured happiness. It’s never too late to share a moment like this. Thank you.

a happy day!

Today, December 19, 2011 is my best friend’s birthday, the one that assist me sometimes in my photo sessions, the one that pushes me giving me ideas and constructive criticism. The man that with a big hug makes my day brighter, the one that laughs at my silly and not too silly jokes, the man that understands my sarcasm and corrects my ESL moments. Today is my boyfriend’s birthday, thought I let the world know how I feel about him… and make him blush a little. Happy Birthday Ty! I love you

Oh! Before I forget, Happy Birthday to Ty’s niece Fiona. Ty and Fiona’s Birthday is today, so is extra special for everyone! =)
